Summertime

What better way to end a long hot schoolday, than walking down to the local shop and getting some ice pops. It's time to take things easy.!! 6th Class were at their chosen secondary school for the day so 5th class made the most of the good weather. Lets hope the weather is good for our special event next week!!!

We had our annual Rosses Schools sports day today at Carrickfinn. Weather was great, sunny and warm and the children from Loch an Iúir school did very well. We had a number of 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners. Everyone took part and had a great day of athletics. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Blue is the Colour

We have 1 pupil in school who was celebrating on Saturday night. Bernadette in 5th class is an avid Chelsea supporter and she was jumping for joy. She has no finger nails left as the penalty shoot out was too much for her.

Well done Bernadette, it was a long time coming. Some people got it right on our blog poll!! Well done.

FANTASTIC BRNO!

We are just back from Brno in the Czech Republic. What a beautiful city and country. We visited the school and enjoyed all the hospitality.

We have made our lipdub type presentation. The infant class went on a walk around Loch an Iúir and took pictures of the beautiful sites. We put special emphesis on OLD TRADITIONAL HOUSES.

Athletic Bilbao

A big well done to our friends in Bilbao as their team are through to the final of The Europa Cup.
We wish the team well in the final.
It is between a Spanish tean, Athletico Madrid and a Basque team, Athletic Bilbao.
We will be watching the final and supporting BILBAO!!!

Donegal Teachers visit Mullaghbawn

On the 1st 2nd and 3rd of April 4 teachers from Loch an Iúir visited our partner school in Mullaghbawn.We were warmly welcomed and well looked after. We visited the school and went into almost every classroom. What a beautiful school full of wonderful children and teachers. We visited the nearby Tí Chullian Center and we hope to bring a group of pupils there in the near future. We were given a guided tour of the local area and visited St Brigid's Shrine in Faughart, which is very close by the school.
Many thanks to Peter, Ciara and all the teachers and pupils for a wonderful few days in South Armagh. We hope to see you all again soon. Pictures of the visit will follow.
