Siúlóid-Community Walk

On the  walk
Murph the mascot.

Parents joined us.

Tea Break
Today the Loch an Iúir school community went on a Sponsored Walk around a 5km route nearby the school. We were joined by 'Murph' the unofficial school mascot. The walk took us through some very senic places. Half way, we stopped for some refreshments. When the walk was over we were slightly tired but we had great fun. We raised €700 to buy some new learning resources for the school. We are going to enjoy our mid-term break even more now.

Open Ended Task

Pupils in Rang 5/6 were asked to make a house or room made out of scrap materials.
Here are some of the houses so far.
Conor's house is made from scrap wood and Amy used cardboard. She even put in artificial flowers to decorate her room.

Oíche Fhéile Bríde/ St Bridgid's Night

We had a great night on the 31st of January, traditionally called Oíche Fhéile Bríde.
The whole school community came together and hade a great night.
We had a special celebration for grandparents, for Catholic Schools Week and then we made special crosses made out of rushes to remember St Bríd.
After that we had a great supper in the school- Brúitín(mashed potatoes), ham, plenty of sandwiches, tae and cakes.
Here are some of the crosses we made.
We are going to give one cross to each of our partner schools, specially made by children in the school.

Some crosses made by the pupils.
